PW Mvt only - Girod a Copet, early oignon style verge fusee alarm watch, white enamel dial with inner alarm chapter, winding apertures for fusee and alarm, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with large two-footed pierced and foliate scrolled balance bridge with birds of prey at left and right perimeter, no visible mvt s#. Brian Loomes' "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World" lists Jaques Girod of Cop(p)et, Switzerland as active in the second half of the 17th century.
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound and balance will tick briefly with a twist or will tick weakly continuously with a twist and a bit of reverse pressure at the fusee, overhaul needed, good alarm function as inner chapter is advanced to 12 position, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, scratches and marks to perimeter of main plate; dial with numerous hls in alarm chapter, small chipping near beetle hand, some hls in timekeeping chapter, mild edge chips at 9 and 12, chip adjacent alarm barrel aperture; central hand with one side broken off.
